Let it Snow

Hi everyone, hope you all had a great weekend! I have such a hard time on Mondays, I'm sure I'm not alone, with getting back to work, since all I want to do is stay home and make cards or get the house ready for Christmas. Alas, I'm blessed with a job so my pity party must be short lived.

Today I have a Christmas card that can easily be mass-produced and mailed without extra postage. I used a beautiful red cardstock with a metallic finish which gives the surface a nice sheen. All stamps used are from Gina K. Designs, stamped with Versamark and heat embossed using white embossing powder.  The frame is from the Fabulous Frame set, the snowman and sentiment from Merry Little Christmas, and the snowflakes from The Giving Tree. I will be entering this card in this week's Mod Squad Challenge.

I love this image because it just makes me smile. It reminds me of how I used to feel as a child when I saw the first snow flurries. I would raise my face up to the sky so the snowflakes would fall on my face, just like the snowman is doing. It's a different story as an adult because trudging in the aftermath of a heavy snowfall to get to work or to get home was not fun. Now that I live in Puerto Rico (and safely away from the threat of a snowstorm) I yearn to feel the snow again on my face. Then I see pictures of a heavy snowstorm and the yearning magically disappears!

Thanks for stopping by, have a wonderfully creative week. Hugs and Blessings.

  2. Great use of the stamps, and yes, perfect for one layer, no extra postage card. Love that red color. And yes, if I lived in a warm climate with no snow I would miss it. Got up this morning with everything all white and beautiful. Course I also hate getting out in it when it gets to be about February.....haha!

  3. It's beautiful and you used one of my favorite snowman images too! I ran out of cards when I made my mailing list, so might have to make a few more quick and easy ones myself. This is a great design!
