Give Thanks

Happy Monday all!

I have a quick card to share with you today.  Over at the Mod Squad Challenge Blog, Sharyn has challenged us with a word challenge and the word is Holiday. So for my holiday card I made a Thanksgiving card. This is one of my favorite holidays because it brings the family together to give thanks for all of God's bounty (and eat really good food).

For my card I stamped Melanie Muenchinger's Fabulous Frame on Pure Luxury Dark Sage cardstock and heat embossed it with Seafoam White embossing powder. The a pattern paper in the panels is from the Sun Kissed Autumn paper pack. To purchase the stamp set, cardstock and the paper pack visit Gina K. The oval with the wheat is a cut file from Make-The-Cut which I sized to fit perfectly in the stamped oval. The sentiment is also cut with the MTC program. Easy peasy, and very nice!

That's it for today, thanks for stopping by.

Todo crece con amor / Everything grows with love

Saludos y feliz domingo a todas.

Hi and happy Sunday. I hope you are having a good one. Today I'm sharing an anniversary card that I made for a very special couple who recently started their lives as a married couple. How beautiful is the life of newlyweds, they have their whole life ahead of them and every dream is a possibility! Let's wish them a long life of happiness, love, respect and patience.

Since September is the month dedicated to sewing, the twist to the challenge was to use some form of sewing. I embroidered the oval and added faux stitching to the design paper since my sewing machine is not working. The word "feliz" is done with a Latina Crafter die, and I cut the word "Aniversario" with my Silhouette. After coloring the focal image I added 3D Crystal Lacquer to give it the look of glass. I stamped the inside with a sentiment (everything grows with love) from the set Mi flor favorita.

Materiales:
Gina K. Pure Luxury Heavy Base Weight White cardstock for card base
Latina Crafter "Feliz" Die
Inside sentiment -  Mi flor favorita by Latina Crafter
Focal image - Let's Uncork by Unity Stamp
Pattern Papers - Echo Park This & That 6x6 Paper Pad
3D Crystal Effects
Atyou Spica Twinkling like Stars Clear

Espero que les guste y gracias por la visita. Hasta la próxima, que tengan una feliz semana.

I hope you like it and thanks for stopping by. Until my next post, have a wonderful week.

Vellum & Acetate

Hello my friends and Happy Monday.

Today I want to share with you a card that I'll be entering in this week's Mod Squad Challenge. Karen Hightower is the host and she's challenged us to make a holiday card, any holiday, but we must use Vellum and Acetate or clear plastic sheets for crafting. I've worked with vellum but not much with acetate. I saw various videos on YouTube on heat embossing on acetate and I decided to try this technique. The only clear plastic I had on hand was the kind used as report covers, but it didn't take kindly to the heat. I then remembered I had a sample pack of HP paper and in the pack were two transparency films. Yay, success! I love how the heat embossed snowman came out.

I used Vellum to make the poinsettia and heat embossed it. I lined the inside with a pale blue card stock. The background image is first stamped with Memento Black then with Versamark, just slightly to the right to give it a shadow effect. The trees and the snowflakes are also heat embossed with Seafoam White Embossing Powder; I added sparkle to the snowflakes with an Atyou Spica pen. Here's a closeup.

The products I used for this card are:
Ivory linen cardstock for the card base
JustRite Stampers Festive Poinsettia with matching Spellbinders dies
Spellbinders Floral Ovals
Ranger Seafoam White Embossing Powder
Memento Black inkpad
Versamark inkpad
Snowman from Merry Little Christmas by Gina K. Designs
Background trees from Life is Good by Gina K. Designs
Snowflakes from The Giving Tree by Gina K. Designs

Hope you like my card. Thanks for stopping by, until my next post, have a wonderfully creative week.

Harvest of Blessings

Happy Monday friends, and for all of you who celebrate Labor Day, I hope you've had a great one. When we lived stateside this weekend would be the last camping trip we'd make. My husband's uncle had a plot of land upstate New York, our camping trips started on Memorial Day weekend and ended on Labor Day weekend.  We always stopped on our way back to the city at a farm to buy the fruits or vegetables of the season. We have a lot of fond memories of these trips; as a matter of fact, this same uncle just celebrated his 80th birthday on a cruise with his family. May he be blessed with more birthdays.

Which brings me to this week's blessing.  The Mod Squad Challenge for this week is to make a card with a fruit or harvest theme. Lee is the host this week and she is giving away a special prize, which of course, I want --and who doesn't? It's the new Gina K Designs Stamptv Kit that was released last Thursday. I have my fingers crossed, so wish me luck.

For my card I used the Harvest Fall Autumn Frame Antique Illustration digital stamp from British Isles Artworks. I colored it with pencils and sponged it with Vintage Photo Distress Ink. I distressed the edges, added a faux bow and layered that on some Gina K Black Onyx Pure Luxury cardstock. This layer is adhered to an ivory card base and jute ribbon with pop dots. The sentiment is from Gina K's Beyond Baskets stamp set.

This is it for today until my next post, have a wonderfully creative week. Hugs and Blessings.
