Baby Boy

Happy Monday everyone! For those of you who celebrate Easter, I hope it was a blessed one. Our family got together for an Easter brunch full of yummy food, but more importantly we had a chance to share with family and friends we don't see every day. We had a wonderful time.

Today's card is for my nephew who will soon have his first child. I will be entering this card in this week's challenge over at Mod Squad Challenge Blog; this week it's a color challenge. For my card I used Gina K. Pure Luxury Heavy Base Weight White card stock for the card base, layered with Ocean Mist. The onesies are a cut file from Lori Whitlock (#24919 Silhouette store) which I cut with my Silhouette Cameo. This is a perfect card to use those scraps. The cutsie little stars are cutouts left behind from the smallest oval in Spellbinders Floral Ovals die set. I used this die to make my niece's wedding invitations and saved the itty bitty stars thinking I could use them on a project. And so I did.

This card was fun and easy to make. Hope you like it. Thanks for stopping by.

Easter Musings

Happy Monday everyone!

Holy Week was always a special time in my family.  My Mom and Dad taught us to observe this week in quiet reflection -well, ask quiet as seven siblings could. We were encouraged to think about the sacrifice our Lord made for us, we could not listen to music and could only watch religious programs on TV. As a child Easter Sunday was our favorite day. We got all dressed up in our new Easter clothes; suits and ties for the boys, pretty dresses with big bows and bonnets for the girls. And off we went to Easter Mass then to visit family. Now as adults, Easter Sunday is still one of our favorite days. In a more relaxed setting, our family gathers for an Easter brunch to celebrate the Resurrection of our Lord and new Life in Him, the Center of our Faith.

Now to my card. Over at the Mod Squad Challenge Blog, Sean is hosting this week's Spring into Spring challenge. We are to make a spring themed card using at least 3 bright spring colors and to make our own designer paper with our stamps. The colors I chose are from Gina K's Petals & Wings cardstock assortment: Lemon Drop, Jellybean Green and Bubblegum Pink -so Eastery! The stamps I used to make the designer paper are Latina Crafter's Solo porque set. The sentiment is from Crafter's Companion stamped on Vellum this way you can still see the pretty designer paper.

Here's a close up of one of the corners:

That's all for me, until next time. Have a wonderful week and an even better Easter. Blessings and hugz to all. Thanks for stopping by.

Celebrations

Happy Sunday my friends. As I sit here trying to write, I'm listening to some sweet music and looking out my window at a beautiful sunny afternoon. The weekend is almost over and tomorrow is back to work, so before I squeeze in some more crafting time I want to share with you these two cards. The first card is for the "Celebrate Spring" Mix It Up Monday challenge over at StampTV. The little girl in me wanted to play at card making, and this is the card she (we -wink, wink) came up with. It's fun and childish and definitely Spring. If the ice cream truck comes by I'll buy my inner child a cone, LOL!

The products I used:
GKD Pure Luxury White Heavy Base Weight for the card base
GKD Jelly Bean Green Pure Luxury card stock
Summer Sky Memento Dew Drop
Peeled Paint Distress Ink
MTC cut file for the picket fence and clouds
Flowers and butterfly Celebrate the Season stamp set from Gina K.
Spectrum Noir markers

The following card is for the DIY designer paper challenge over at Mod Squad Challenge Blog. My DIY designer paper is made using three different washi tapes. I bought these Scotch brand washi tapes in Office Depot when they had a sale, and still hadn't used them. I had an "AHA" moment when I saw they matched and thought they'd make an interesting pattern. Without measuring I placed the tapes at a diagonal and voilà my card was done. I'm sending this card to my brother who turns 60 this week.

The products I used for this card:
GKD Pure Luxury Fresh Asparagus card stock for the card base
GKD Heavy Base weight white
Washi tapes
Happy Birthday stamp duo from Gina K
Spellbinders Grommet Tags

Well, this is all for today. Have a great week and thanks for stopping by.
