Latina Crafter Sketch #31

Happy Sunday, hope you're enjoying your day. Latina Crafter is having their first blog hop of 2014.  The design team has prepared beautiful projects, perfect for Valentine's Day. Take a look and don't forget to leave a comment on each blog for a chance to win a prize.

This is my participation in Latina Crafer Sketch #31. For the background I used a Cuttlebug embossing folder and colored it with Spectrum Noir markers. Doesn't it look like Spring? The flower and the sentiment is from LC Mi Flor Favorita stamp set. Hope you like it.

Que tengan un día maravillosamente creativo. Abrazos y bendiciones.
Have a wonderfully creative day. Hugz and Blessings.

Gina K Guest DT Challenge #3 and #4

The third challenge for the Gina K Guest DT is to make a set of tags. For my tags I used the rose from Melanie Muenchinger's Stately Flowers 6 stamp set. I was just itching to get these inked up and colored. I first stamped them with Memento Rich Cocoa and colored them using a combination of Copics and Spectrum Noir markers -I heard they play well together, and they do. I'm still learning how to color with alcohol markers, blending colors and shading; I'm enjoying the process.

The fourth challenge is a sketch challenge.  For this card I used Enjoy the Journey stamp set, Petals & Wings pattern paper scraps, White, Innocent Pink and Lemon Drop cardstock.

Until next post, have a wonderfully creative day. Hugz and blessings.

Make it Monochromatic Challenge

I love when there's a long weekend and I can dedicate the time to cardmaking. For this Mix It Up Monday (MIUM) challenge over at StampTV, we had to make a monochromatic card.  I used Tami Mayberry's sketch published in the new issue of CardMaking Magazine.

These are the materials I used:
Card base is Gina K. Pure Luxury White
Washi tape from Latina Crafter
Gina K. Dream Catcher stamp

Once I decided what sketch to use, putting it together went relatively fast. My kind of card. Hope you like it.

Hugz and Blessings.

Gina K Guest DT Challenge #2

The second Gina K Guest DT Challenge calls for a shaped card.  I don't usually make shaped cards so I'm glad I had the chance to make one. For my card I used Spellbinders Classic Scalloped Circles Large on GKD White Pure Luxury Heavy Base cardstock.  Sponged the scalloped edge with Memento New Sprout. Stamped Floral Wreath on white layering weight cardstock, colored with Copics, fussy cut and adhered it to the base card. Some pearls, a button and black bakers twine finish the card.

Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by.

Gina K Guest DT Challenge

Happy Friday everyone! This year I did not make any resolutions because as much as I try, -well sort of LOL-- my determination doesn't last past March. Come to think of it, that only happens with my weight loss, exercising or getting organized resolutions, LOL! Now, what I do want to do in 2014 is challenge myself more in my card making craft by learning and experimenting with new techniques, mediums and sketches. I've learned that the best way to grow in a craft is to participate in challenges, scary I know, but well worth it, and you get feedback from fellow crafters. The best is the satisfaction you get when you learn that one of your cards has made someone's day --as the commercial says, "priceless".

Gina K and StampTV is giving everyone the chance for a spot as guest DT during the months of Feb, April, July, Sept and Nov. I've been participating (when I can, and not as much as I want) in StampTV's weekly challenges, but not for a spot as a guest DT!  Their first Guest DT Challenge is a technique challenge. We have to use the color on color emboss resist technique. For a great tutorial on this technique watch Gina's video "Color on Color Emboss Resist". I enjoyed it so much I made two cards.

For both cards I used the same flower from Melanie Muenchinger's Stately Flowers 3 stamp set. The sentiment is from GKD Labeled with Love. The card base for the first card is Pure Luxury Ivory layered with Bubblegum Pink. I colored the flower with Copic markers, fussy cut it and adhered it to the card with foam dots for added dimension. For the sentiment I used Spellbinder's Fancy Tags. The card base for the second card is Fresh Asparagus layered with Ocean Mist. Here I stamped the sentiment on vellum and embossed it with black embossing powder and die cut using Grommet Tags.  I hope you like them.

Have a wonderfully creative weekend!
